TORQUE ARM SETUP


The following spreadsheet provides setup information for a torque arm suspension. The results will provide equal rear tire loading during launch...regardless of the value of driveshaft torque...and no squat or rise.

Base values have been adjusted to provide essentially identical link angles, but this is not required. Note also that the link angles will provide some roll understeer.

The "offset of torque arm" is a lateral (to the driver's right or positive "Y" in the SAE system) displacement from the car's centerline.
